Defender33 (As Above So Below)

You are Defender 33 and your city is under attack by an unknown Alien Farce! At your disposal are TWO War Trains full of guns with the unique mechanic of combining FOUR 2.5D side-scrollers into a single shooter!

Protect your Pillars at all costs! Upgrade your War Trains to ridiculous levels! And unleash explosive mayhem!

Use [A] and [D] to MOVE

Use [LSHIFT] to BOOST

Use [SPACEBAR] or [MMB] to SWITCH TRAINS

Use [MOUSE] to AIM

Use [LMB] to FIRE and [RMB] to ZOOM

Use [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] to SWITCH WEAPONS (when you have them)

You must protect Shielded Downtown by tactically switching between your TOP and BOTTOM War Trains while evading enemy fire emerging from ABOVE or BELOW you. Billy Bob will reward you for speed and efficacy with awesome choices from a large pool of upgrades. 

The theme of the gamejam was "As Above So Below" and this game became the basis for our spin on some of our favorite side scrolling shooters of days past... with a couple of interesting twists!

It was designed and developed from scratch for this Jam in Unreal Engine 5 by a team of four. It features modified environmental assets from the NeoCity Kitbash pack while all other assets are bespoke. This includes systems. audio, music, meshwork, particle systems, and UI graphics. An attempt at multiplayer was failed early.
